The recording tools (filing protocols, logs, etc.) are well preserved for almost all funds of the State Security units in Slovakia.

Within the regional directorates of the National Security Corps (ZNB) State Security Directorates (Bratislava, Banská Bystrica, Košice, Nitra) have been preserved protocols of dossiers of collaborators, protocols of investigated persons and investigated objects and logs of the investigation files as recording tools created for agenda of the dossiers. The archival tools of agenda of the dossiers include archival books of agency dossiers, archival books of investigation dossiers, archival books of operative dossiers, archival books of object dossiers, archival books of signal dossiers, archival books of old-files fund dossiers and archival books of special fund dossiers.

Inventories are created for the funds of regional and district units of the State Security, for personal funds, collections and for the delimited registry.
