International Research Conference - “Archives and Remembrance: Contemporary Uses of the Archival Heritage of Former Communist Security Services” – Warsaw, 11 June 2025 [Live Transmission]

The Institute of National Remembrance is currently chairing the European Network of Official Authorities in Charge of the Secret Police Files. On this occasion, we would like to invite you to participate in the international scientific conference entitled. “Archives and Remembrance: Contemporary Uses of the Archival Heritage of Former Communist Security Services”.

As part of the events related to the chairmanship of the Institute of National Remembrance of the European Network of Official Authorities in Charge of the Secret Police Files, the IPN Archive would like to invite you to the international scientific conference: Archives and Remembrance: Contemporary Uses of the Archival Heritage of Former Communist Security Services”

The aim of the conference is to present various areas of activity of institutions belonging to the Network and to exchange experiences in the scope of key aspects of their current work. Moreover, the participants will have the opportunity to discuss challenges related to the management of archives of former communist services, as well as to share experiences in the scope of, among others, the digitization, sharing and popularization of these collections.

The intention of the organizers is not only to expand knowledge about the historical and social significance of these types of archival holdings, but also to strengthen international cooperation in the field of research and the commemoration of significant figures and events.
