About the Network

About us

The idea that initially guided the founders was to simplify procedures related to the possibility of conducting research and exchanging documents, but over time cooperation has taken on a more complex character.

Members and Associate members of the European Network

The network was formed in December 2008 as a cooperative platform connecting institutions holding the archival collections of the former communist state secret police forces. The organization is currently consisting of eight members and five associate members.

Organizational Structure

Presiding Organisation

The National Council for the Study of the Securitate Archives (CNSAS, Romania) is the presiding organization of the Network for the 2025 - 2026 term
