About us
The idea that initially guided the founders was to simplify procedures related to the possibility of conducting research and exchanging documents, but over time cooperation has taken on a more complex character.

Archival Holdings
The general aim of the network is to create a common forum for the exchange and transfer of information concerning the archives governed, legal regulations applied to the access and research of the former communist security bodies, historical-political education and public relations, and relevant research.

The representatives of the institutions forming The European Network of Official Authorities in Charge of the Secret-Police Files gathered on the meeting in Berlin in December 2013 agreed to digitalize and to publish jointly online records from the multilateral meetings of the former communist state security services, beginning with records from the multilateral meetings of the lines responsible for “political-ideological subversion” and for foreign intelligence.

Members and Associate members of the European Network
The network was formed in December 2008 as a cooperative platform connecting institutions holding the archival collections of the former communist state secret police forces. The organization is currently consisting of eight members and five associate members.
